Raise your hand if allergies are making you rethink all of your life choices. How bad do I really need to live here? How soon until we are on the moon? I wonder if I would be allergic to all that moon dust.

This has been one of the worst years in recent memory. I saw an article from Pollen.com that had Huntsville, AL as one of the worst cities for hay fever sufferers.

So if you're feeling rough, you're not alone and there is good reason why. But maybe you're just not feeling it for some other reason. What does that mean for your workouts?

For me, it has meant having to scale them way back. If workout too hard, I get intense headaches, start coughing, and just feel pretty terrible overall. I choose to adapt my workouts to where I am right now.

It is frustrating and not as much fun, but it beats the alternative. It is easy to get caught up in the trap of telling yourself, "Well if I can't workout at that level I'm used to, I might as well skip the whole thing." It's got me a few times! Not gonna lie.

So maybe it's allergies, an injury, you haven't exercised in a few year, or you are really busy. Whatever it is, keep moving and never stop.

Scale your workouts back if you don't feel good. Exercise the body parts that aren't hurt. Don't kill yourself right away trying to jump back in at the level you used to perform at. And if you only have 15 minutes to exercise, then exercise for 15 minutes! With a plan and some effort, you can get a done accomplished in that time.

Be an overcomer! Find a way, not an excuse. Keep the focus on what you CAN do rather than what you CANNOT. Whatever you are going through will get better and you will be able to do more later. Until that time do the best you can to be as active as you can.
