I moved to Ireland when I was 21 to work in a pub for the summer. The last two weeks I was over there, my older brother Tony came over and we traveled along the coast of Ireland. Our only guide was one of those Fodor's travel books. Kids don't know the struggle!

We stayed in a hostel near the beginning of our travels a place called Killarney. I ended up getting the dreaded scabies from a suspect bed. It is called the mange in dogs and it is rough!

I spent my travels being very itchy for hours every day. The highlight of my day was getting in the shower and burning my skin with the hottest water I could find. Take that mites!

I suffered through the last few days of the trip, the flight home as especially miserable, and then finally decided to do something when I got home. How long would it take to get rid of this horrible itching? Was surgery involved? Shots? Pills?

It was a simple ointment.

That's all it took! And it was all gone in one day. I had avoided going to the doctor in Ireland because I was so embarrassed and I din't think I could avoid treatment. I was kicking myself for putting myself through unnecessary suffering.

What are you putting off because you are embarrassed?

Have you avoided coming to boot camp because you are so out of shape? There is no shame in that, it is one of the most common things I hear from people.

They think they will be the worst one. No one will be more out of shape or more overweight or as old as they are. So they continue to suffer silently and not do anything about the pain of being overweight and out of shape.

Our classes specialize on meeting people where they are and helping them get to where they want to be. It does not matter if they haven't exercised in 20 years or they are training for a marathon. Our classes are truly for all shapes, sizes, and abilities.

There is no need to ever feel embarrassed. I mean it's not nearly as embarrassing as getting man mange. Everybody has to start somewhere and you are welcome no matter what shape you are in now.

You don't need to get in shape before you come. You don't need fancy clothes or special powers. All you need to do is start.

If you are ready to make that leap, send and e-mail to HuntsvilleBootCamp@gmail.com subject line type Leap! And I will help you get going. It will not happen overnight, but I will help you create a blueprint for you to have more energy, tone up, and feel better than you have in years.

PS- feel free to share this message, but let's keep that scabies talk on the down low ok?
