Any K Cup fans out there? I get coffee from my favorite, local place here in town and put it in those reusable K-cup things. Once you become a coffee snob, you just can't go back to sub par coffee!
Just in case you aren't familiar with these glorious machines, I will give you a quick break down. You put a coffee pod into this circular area, pull down the handle, and push a button to make the coffee flow. Quick and easy way to make single cups of coffee, perfect for any my fellow 4am wake up peeps.
I noticed something the other day, that might be just a trait of my machine but maybe yours does it to. After the coffee is completely brewed it will let you know and then you can go on about your way. But if you lift the handled then slightly close it, a few more drops of coffee come out.
But what good is a few drops of coffee right? Not going to make a big difference in the scheme of things. Oh, but it will my friend!
Think about if you improved just 1% every day. If you ate 15 less calories a day. Ran down one more mailbox. Did one more squat. Those don't sound like very much, but those little steps will become your new norm.
Then next thing you know, you are eating 20, then 50, then 100 less calories per day. Running 2 mailboxes, then an extra half mile, then your first 5K. That one squat becomes, 2, then 5, then adding weights.
Your extra 1% effort compounds over time.
Big changes can come from those little, extra 1% drips. Don't think you have to become some super hero over night to change your life.
A 1% step in the right direction creates positive momentum and will lead to change, but it will take patience. Stay the course.
Think of an area you could improve 1%, figure out what that looks like for you, and start today.
