Like the pool in Karate Kid

 

My son had a basketball tournament a few weeks ago in Birmingham and we waited until the last minute to get a hotel room. Since there were two huge tournaments going on, this was a huge mistake.

The only one I could find was what I kept referring to as a Character Builder. This place was rough!  We told one of our friends where we were staying and she let us know she stayed there last year and was awoken by police escorting 15 "escorts" out of the hotel early in the morning. Apparently it was a hot spot for Craigslist business transactions...

So not a good situation is what I'm trying to tell you. But the rooms were clean enough, it was convenient to the tournament, and we did not get murdered in our sleep. So I also referred to it as a Memory Maker. We will never forget that place for sure. And we learned we need to plan better next time.
That is my main point today, how important planning ahead is with your workouts and nutrition. If you have a fitness coach or go to a class then your main planning involves carving out time to make it to the workout, getting your clothes/shoes ready, etc...
If you do not have someone planning your workouts, you really need to have a plan for what you are going to do. Otherwise you will jump aimlessly from exercise to the next, not getting much done. I worked in gyms for a long time and would see it every day. Don't get me wrong, it is better than not working out but take the time to maximize your time during your workouts.
And nutrition is even more important to plan for. Because when hunger hits, all bets are off! You can go from hungry to hangry at the drop of a hat, then next thing you know you've eaten 3 pizzas and gnawed some poor man's arm off at the elbow.
Have meals prepped or planned out as often as you can. Do your grocery shopping in advance. Never when you are hungry, unless you want to buy half the store. This will save you so much money calories it is well worth the effort.
