Love this little guy

I've had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my son lately and it has been awesome. You're probably like me and you get so caught up in work, every day life, wild boar hunting, etc... so you don't get a chance to just "be" with your son or daughter.

I don't have a daughter, but I'm pretty sure they are totally different animals from boys. It got me thinking about what I would like for him to learn.

The first thing that popped into my head was for him to learn punching below the belt is not cool.  Here are a few other things I would like for him to learn:

-How to treat a lady

-To be able to form tackle in football

-To always stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves

-To be a man, but to realize he is always mama's little baby

-To approach every day with a sense of humor and a sense of purpose

-There is humor in EVERY situation

-To adopt my  time managment system of  "If it doesn't make a dollar or a difference don't do it"

-To be an Auburn fan (some of you might object)

-How to do The Worm

-To love books

-To be a leader, not a follower

-The power of prayer

-To judge people by their actions, not their words

-The importance of true friends

-How to be a true friend

-To do whatever you can to avoid a fight, but if it starts do what you have to

-To always look people in the eyes

-That women do not have Adam's apples

-How to win and lose the right way

-But to hate losing

-One good take down and one good submission (my wife does not agree with the importance of this one)

-The difference between hurt and injured

-To never give up

-To never let fear  keep him from getting something he wants (unless it's fear of me)

-To never be satisfied with being average

-To fix things (because I'm worthless)

-Proper nutrition

-That success in life is helping other people achieve their goals

So that's the few things I could think of. For those of you raising boys, what do you want for them? My list is probably slightly different from yours, so help me out with some other options.
