I went on the news yesterday to talk about surviving the holidays without gaining weight. I gotta be honest, I didn't really bring a whole lot to the table other than showing off my black eye.

So I wanted to share with you a few ways to make it through the holidays without gaining weight and being completely exhausted. Because that is how most people end their years, unfortunately.
The goal is to crate some momentum going into 2019. Here are a few different ways we can do this.
1. Realize it is only 3 days
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. What do you do on these days? Enjoy yourself! Eat the foods you like, spend time with family and friends, relax, be present. The holidays are a special time of year, take advantage of this time.
2. It is the other days we need to tighten up
The Christmas parties, the work gatherings, etc... are going to start in full force. We need a game plan! The best thing you can do is bring a healthy dish to share. That way you know there will be at least one health thing there and one thing that is not nasty. Ever been to one of those parties that are chock full of potato salad with raisins, boiled turkey, and Jello molds? We are looking to avoid that.
3. Watch your ASS (not what you think)
Three things that tend to go off the rails during the holidays are: Alcohol, Sleep, and Stress.
When all three of those get out of control it can wreak havoc on your body, especially your immune system. Minimize alcohol, don't sacrifice your sleep, and reduce your stress.
4. FFF Your Workouts
I'm on an acronym roll, so I thought I would keep it going. One of the best ways to maintain your health (physical and mental), avoid weight gain, and keep the momentum going is exercise. This time of year is perfect for using the 3F Workout system. Make exercise Fun, exercise with your Friends, and exercise Fast.
If exercise is fun, you will continue to do it. If you consistently exercise, you get results. you get results it encourages you to keep going. Exercising with your friends can great improve your chances of showing up each day. Also a great time to complain to someone about all of this heartwarming family time you are getting in. And you don't need a ton of time to get in shape! If you are pressed for time, sneak in 5 or 10 minutes of exercise. So much better than zero minutes of exercise!
On Wednesday, I will send you a few short, workout options you can do any time anywhere.
