We are driven by dopamine. If you notice that good feeling you feel when you drink, eat, or gamble. That is the Dope Man, dopamine.
Food manufactures spend tons of money every year finding out what stimulates us poor humans to buy an digest more food than we intend to. Have you noticed that almost every fast food chain has some sort of red and/or yellow in their color scheme? That is not an accident. Check the picture above.
So how do we combat that? Step number one is to not step foot/car into the fast food places. Step number two is to not bring that junk/fast food into your house.
Step 3 is a little bit different. You have to change the packaging! The junk food stuff that is eye catching in the grocery store will do the same to you at home. Every time you pass by the kitchen or open the pantry guess where your eyes will be drawn?
Flip the script on these jokers. If you HAVE to have these foods in the house, put them into clear bags or plain, paper bags. Even if it cuts down on your temptation 5%, that is a win.
Every day we have little decisions throughout our day that will decide our success. The more we can take away these little brain tricks that are working against us the better.
