Not too long ago, I wrote about defeated questions. It was a concept I got from Andy Andrews’ book “Mastering The Seven Decisions”.

On Saturday I used a concept I used from Andrews’ book "The Traveler’s Gift". That is where the 7 decisions come from.

This particular concept is an extremely powerful one. It is a personal mantra that I use now called “I have a decided heart”.

How many times do you go back and forth about making a decision? Then after you finally make the decisions, you go back and forth on whether or not you made the right call. It can drive you crazy!

I made up my mind Friday night that I was going to go hiking Saturday morning. I didn’t have to be anywhere first thing in the morning for the first time in a long time, so it was perfect. I love hiking, but have not had a lot of time to go lately so I was pumped.

Then I get up early Saturday morning and the first thing I hear is the wind howling and the rain lashing the house. I did not even waver about whether or not I was hiking. I gave myself no outs and no excuses, I was going.

Keeping that quote in mind, I just grabbed some rain gear and headed out. And it ended up being a really awesome hike! Just me, the rain, wind, and the rest of nature. It was exactly what I needed.

I was thankful for my decided heart.

Start using that for yourself. Especially if you find that you keep missing your workouts or can’t stick to clean eating. Decide right now what you want to do and that nothing can alter your course.

I enjoyed this passage from “The Traveler’s Gift”:

“I will not wait. I am passionate about my vision for the future. My course has been chartered. My destiny is assured.

I have a decided heart.”

Start tonight. Decide what you are going to do tomorrow and do it! When you are mentally and emotionally prepared to do something, the physical part comes naturally.

Get a decided heart.
