Did a second grader write this for me or do I write like a second grader? You get two guesses.

Yesterday in our HABC Facebook group we were going through our one word mantra for 2019. That may sound a little cheesy, but a mantra can truly be a powerful thing.
My word is Finish. I was reflecting back on 2018 and all that happened this year. I looked at the good, the bad, and the ugly. My plan is learn from all of it, adjust, and move on. So I wrote Finish on a dry erase board that I use to put all my tasks to get done on.
One thing that stood out to me, is that I did not finish several things that I had planned this year. And that's not like me!
There were several reasons (ok excuses) I could list, but another trend I saw was that I tried to do too much. I especially tried to do too many things for other people and my own business and health goals suffered.
Does that sound familiar to anybody? Have you ever found yourself taking care of everybody else and then you have nothing else left for yourself? If you are a mom, I can go ahead and answer a big YES on that one.
It sounds very selfish, but you have to take care of yourself first if you are going to care for anyone else. If I continue to put so much time, money, and effort into things outside of my business I will no longer have a business! And then I won't be able to do the things in the community and for charities with the resources my business provides. Just like if you continue to neglect your health, you won't be able to take care of anyone else. Next year, I plan to Finish.
Here are a few other examples one word mantras the group came up with:
Better
Peace
Simplify
Surgery-free- the hyphen made it one word 🙂
Babealicious (I almost stole that one)
Balance
Fearless
Joy
Continue
All excellent examples, especially the Babelicious one. Look back at your year. What went right what went wrong, what needs to improve, etc...
What will your one word be for 2019?
