I wanted to follow up my post about FOCUS last week with a very important distinction. It is the difference between being committed and interested.
There are a lot of people who are INTERESTED in losing weight and getting in shape, but are not COMMITTED. There is a huge difference in the two.
When you are committed nothing will stop you from reaching your goals.
Even pizza, birthday cake, alcohol, or plateaus will slow you down. When you are committed, every time you turn down those foods you feel stronger and it fuels your desire to succeed. When you are just interested, you feel deprived and cheated when you turn those foods down.
There are so many pitfalls out there to try and trip you up. Try to drive more than 5 minutes without seeing a fast food place. If you aren’t committed you will have trouble.
To stay committed you have to believe in the program you are doing, have faith in yourself, and know that tough times don’t last but tough people do. So ask yourself that tough question. Am I committed to reaching my goals or just interested?
