When you are going to a party, it is always a good idea to bring a healthy dish. Several reasons:
1. It is courteous and your mom said you should
2. The other food could be horrible, you never know
3. You know there will be something healthy you can eat
I said healthy, but don't be that person bringing kale to the party! That will get you kicked out and possibly shot here in the South. Take something that actually tastes good, but is still a health option.
Something like this recipe I found in my Sabra hummus today. It is called Avocadooooo Yeah.
Ingredients:
-10 ounces of hummus
-2 avocados: skin and pit removed, chopped into chunks
-1 1/2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
-salt to taste
-Garnish: chopped cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lime
1. Mix chopped avocado, lime juice and salt
2. Add hummus and stir gently until thoroughly mixed.
3. Place on a serving dish and squeeze more fresh lime juice onto the hummus
4. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
Pretty easy to make and it is a good source of healthy fats.
