I read a great article from Precision Nutrition called All About Fat Loss. It was um, all about fat loss...
The most useful part of the article for me was their 10 recommendations to help you lower body fat levels. It is not just "eat broccoli and go run for 2 hours". The list is comprehensive, doable, and uses a multi-prong approach to fat loss.
My suggestion is to take a look at the list, pick out the one you think would be the EASIEST to make a habit, and then make it part of your daily routine. When that one becomes routine, add another fat loss tool to your tool box.
10 Ways maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat:
- Exercise at least 5 hours per week
- Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues
- Eat slower
- Don't eat distracted (eating while reading, watching TV, surfing the web)
- Upgrade meals
- Sleep 7-9 hours per night
- Don’t engage in extreme diets
- Stay consistent with your habits
- Incorporate non-exercise physical activity (park further away, take the stairs, stand more)
- Ignore food advertising
